Ventyr, the developer of Norway’s first offshore wind farm, Sørlige Nordsjø II, is pleased to announce that the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has released the impact assessment (IA) program for the project and its grid connection.

The impact assessment will evaluate the potential environmental and societal effects of the Sørlige Nordsjø II offshore wind farm.
We are delighted that NVE has released the impact assessment program, marking another important milestone in the development of this important offshore wind power project,” said Anne Knausgård, Country Manager for Norway at Parkwind, Ventyr’s main shareholder.

Ventyr expresses its appreciation to NVE for their thorough and comprehensive review of the IA proposal, which included a detailed analysis of public feedback and Ventyr’s responses. “We value NVE’s diligent efforts in assessing our program alongside the public’s input. Their careful evaluation reflects a commitment to a balanced and transparent process, which is critical for the success of this project,” Anne added.

Looking ahead, Ventyr is eager to proceed with the impact assessment and continue engaging with stakeholders, including local communities, environmental groups, industry partners, and regulators.

The Sørlige Nordsjø II project aims to make a substantial contribution to Norway’s renewable energy goals, delivering sustainable offshore wind energy while considering environmental, social, and economic factors. The forthcoming impact assessment will examine a wide range of areas, including environmental impacts and the socio-economic benefits of the project.
